Furniture Making (Furniture Summer School)

The summer school provides delegates with the opportunity to make a side/occasional table with veneered top and dovetailed drawer, using a variety of techniques. The Summer School runs for five consecutive days, information on accommodation is available.

This course will include:

  • To make a handmade side/occasional table with veneered top and dovetailed draw
  • Safe set up and use of hand tools
  • Including sharpening and honing chisels and planes by hand
  • Experience in using hardwoods (ash, beech, mahogany and sapele)

Furniture Restoration (Furniture Summer School)

The summer school provides delegates with the opportunity to practice restoration techniques, and the focus of the course is to restore a project piece, using skills gained.  The Summer School runs for five consecutive days, information on accommodation is available.

This course will include:
• Restore a project piece
• Safe set up and use of hand tools
• Timber source
• French polishing

Trend Routing (Basic)

This one day course is suitable for beginners who want to get the most from their Router:

• To outline the components and capabilities of the router and how to maintain your cutters
• Basic operations of the router, such as Rebates, Grooves etc
• Demonstrate the use of a range Trend jigs.
• Explain Health and Safety procedures when using a router.
