Entry Requirements?

This course would appeal to artist, graphic designers, photographers and anyone looking to enhance images/pictures or to design art using digital manipulation. This course covers the image editing process from the very beginning and progresses through the basics concepts and techniques.

What will I study?

On this course you will cover the following core areas: Creating and saving images, different formats, sizes and file types; Navigating around the Photoshop workspace; Selection and Cropping; Shortcuts; Transforming and Resizing, Image Adjustments and Filters. You will also explore many advanced features using Tools such as: Brushes, Erasers, Text creation, along with photographic techniques such as darkening, lightening, sharpening, blurring, repairing, faking and merging different images together.

How will I be taught?

Practical demonstrations led by the tutor. One-to-one tuition within the group. Individual/group discussion/evaluations of the practical work achieved.

Continuous classroom assessment based on Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA)
