Suitable for a range of experiences from beginners to those with previous woodworking experience. Students will undertake some basic joint making in the first few sessions. After which, a set project will be issued with various extension projects available for the more experienced students. It is essential to buy and bring your own pair of safety boots. Also, you are required to bring a pair of safety glasses or 'overspecs' and a pair of ear defenders. Both are available from Scewfix for around £3-£5 each. Thursday Evening Sessions: 18:30 - 21:00

What will I study?

The instructor will carry out machining of timber and other materials, you will be trained to use some smaller machines and portable power tools such as sanders and routers as required By the end of the course you should be able to produce a range of woodworking joints and a small item of furniture. For the first session you will need: Pen, pencils, safety footwear, notebook. Timber for the first few sessions will be supplied, students will be expected to provide timber and other hardware items for any additional projects which can be discussed in the first few sessions.
