Course Details

Computer digital arts based higher national diploma which is a natural progression for Animation or Graphic design students. The course will explore all creative aspects of digital art including 2D and 3D animation, advance graphic design and layout techniques. Focused on industry briefs and working with the leading companies within this field, this course will make you employment ready within this fast paced field of the Digital Arts.

Entry Requirements

A typical offer of either a combination of GCE A levels/Level 3 Diploma or an Extended Diploma at overall Merit. Relevant industry experience will be considered. GCSE Mathematics and English Language are preferred at grade C or above, English as a second language at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.

Career options

You may wish to convert your HND into a full Degree by completing a top up year at a University. Alternatively, excellent long-term career routes for HND Digital Arts, Animation and Illustration holders include Graphic Designer, Animator, and Digital Special Effects Creator.

What you need to know

What will I study?

Using software such as Maya, After Effects, and the adobe suite all briefs are set around digital art. Specialist pathways are available within the programme such as digital design, 3D design and product design. Briefs will incorporate anything digital from animation short films to package design and other digital art forms.

How will I be taught?

Lectures, field trips and guest speaker.

How will I be assessed?

Main assessment of the programme is carried out via live briefs that with concentrate of the finished article. One unit per year is externally set by the exam board where a project has to be completed in a set amount of hours. Course tuition fee - £6,500 per year
