Course Details

Looking for a career in the motor cycle industry or just have a passion for motor cycles? This course is designed to provide you with both the knowledge and practical experience required for you to progress towards employment and/or career progression in the automotive industry.

Entry Requirements

You should have successfully completed a foundation course such as the City and Guilds 3902. It is recommended that you have a GCSE grade D or above in maths and English or the equivalent functional skill. You will also be required to complete a successful interview and aptitude test.

Career options

If you find automotive employment within the timeframe you can be transferred from the VRQ full time course to an apprenticeship. Completion of the 102,152 and 172 units will make you eligible for progression onto level 2.

What you need to know

What will I study?

You will have a wide range of opportunities to develop your skills both practically in the workshop and theoretically in the classroom. Time will be given for you to develop your own style and techniques. Linked to the main qualification you will also study English and maths working towards level 2 and GCSE. The development of your personalised enterprise passport and enrichment activities fully enhance this course.

How will I be taught?

This course runs for 2 and half days a week over 36 weeks. It is made up of 2 days of practical workshop sessions and ½ day of designated theory. In addition to the main qualification you will study towards Level 2 Maths and English Functional Skills.

How will I be assessed?

The course is broken down into units where you will have both practical and written assessments. The knowledge and technical evidence required will be tested by online exams.
