This exciting course offers you an introduction into a variety of different hair services offered in industry. This course is a good starting point for a great career in Hairdressing. Learning an exciting new skill set that will enable you to progress further with in the Hairdressing Industry.

Entry Requirements

3 GCSE grades at D (3) or above. One being Mathematics or English, but Science would be beneficial and an interest in the Hair industry.

Career options

Progression upon successfully completion of the study programme to level 2 Hairdressing, Barbering , Apprenticeship with in the Hairdressing industry or Level 2 Make-up and Hair. This course can be used as a starting point for going into industry working as a salon assistant.

What you need to know

What will I study?

You will study a variety of both theory and practical units such as: introduction to Hair , Professional Image, Styling hair, Shampoo and conditioning, Create an Image, Temporary Colouring of the hair and more. You will also be required to complete one day per week work experience as part of the course. Within your study programme you will also take functional skills or GCSEs to develop your English and Maths skills.

How will I be taught?

Theory and practical lessons will be delivered . The learning process will be student centred and will require commitment, dedication and the ability to conduct independent research. Lessons will be in a creative and fun learning environment , where you will also work on clients.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed practically and with written assignments that are graded pass, merit or distinction.Assessments will take place in our Lee Stafford Hairdressing Salon.
