Entry Requirements

A good standard of secondary education to include a C/4 grade in English Language or Maths plus four other GCSEs at D/3 or above.

Career options

Completion of this course can lead to progression to BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business, employment or an apprenticeship.

What you need to know

What will I study?

The core units of this qualification aim to develop all learners and give the underpinning knowledge in business. Core unit and mandatory units Unit 1: Enterprise in the Business World Unit 2: Finance for Business Unit 18: Small Business Planning Unit 3: Promoting a brand Unit 9: Principals of Marketing Unit 19: Introducing Project Management Optional Specialist units will also be studied during the year.

How will I be taught?

Practical, enjoyable lessons using the most up to date and relevant teaching materials. You will be encouraged to maximise self-study opportunities using online resources.

How will I be assessed?

The assessment is a mixture of internally and externally assessed units. Two of the units, one of which is a core unit, will be externally assessed. One is a written exam, the other is through an online screen test lasting 1.5 hours.
