Course Details

To provide an opportunity for students to gain insight into employment in the uniformed service: Develop personal communication and leadership skills through involvement in practical activities and off campus excursions including Backer Barracks, Thorney Island. A practical, portfolio based course with the opportunity to attend extremely relevant and enjoyable residential weeks away in an Outdoor Activity environment and ship borne and Naval Base environment.

Entry Requirements

Appropriate Level 2 qualification or equivalent - Merit or above. For school leavers, three GCSEs grade 4 or above An interest in physical fitness, sport and Uniformed Services. As participation in Army Cadets is a pre-requisite of this course, learners are required to be under 19 years of age.

Career options

BTEC Diploma / Extended Level 3 Diploma in Uniformed Public Services (when combined with a successful completion of GCSE English Language and Mathematics). Entry into a uniformed service via application route or employment

How will I be assessed?

Coursework, projects, essays, practical tasks and reports. Observation and witness statements. Your course work will be mainly written assessment through assignments based around your units of learning. You will also be practically assessed taking part in various physical activities.
