Course Details

Following on from Level 1 AAT courses, this AAT level 2 course offers a range of basic accounting principles and techniques, from costing and double-entry bookkeeping to computerised accounts. This course offers you the opportunity to gain the skills demanded by employers, while achieving a nationally recognised qualification that could ultimately lead to the full AAT Accounting Qualification and AAT full membership. The programme provides the opportunity to study book-keeping, accounting skills and both manually and computerised. For all students studying an AAT course, they will need to register as a student member of AAT. This is a membership fee paid directly to AAT, and is currently, based on 2017/18 fees, £82 a year, with a one-off joining fee of £43. There is also the requirement to purchase course books for this course, of which there are 5, costing between £14 - £18 each.

Entry Requirements

AAT level 1 book-keeping, computerised accounts or GCSEs A*-C in maths and English Language. Alternatively we will accept suitable professional experience in an accounts environment.

What will I study?

How will I be taught?

Classroom based tuition, either one day a week or two evenings a week. Additional resources on VLE and exam practice via AAT website

How will I be assessed?

There are 5 units to complete across the year and assessment is via computer based exams. You will receive the results for 3 of these exams within 2 hours of the exams, the remaining 2 exams, results will be available within 5 - 6 weeks.
