Course Details

A 3 year course at the end of which, subject to you passing all the necessary exams, you will have achieved the CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice. On satisfactory completion of the Portfolio and Case Study and approval of these by CILEx, you should then be able to apply for qualification as a FCILEx.

What you need to know

What will I study?

You will complete 4 academic units in accordance with CILEx' s Qualification Rules, 3 of which will be Law units with the 4th unit being a Practice unit linked to a Law unit and preferably being your area of practice. You will also complete 2 compulsory Skills units in Legal Research and Client Care. In addition you will complete modules on Behaviours, Knowledge and Skills to demonstrate your competence in your Practice area.

How will I be taught?

You will be taught in a classroom environment in small groups by a law tutor.

How will I be assessed?

You will sit external exams in the 4 academic units. You will complete coursework in the Skills units which will be marked by the College and submitted to CILEx for moderation. You will compile a Portfolio and a Case Study taken from your own area of practice to demonstrate that you have achieved competence in the Behaviours, Knowledge and Skills required to be awarded Fellowship.
