Course Details

We are delighted to offer the Payroll Administrator Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is an 18 month course which includes close working with employers, with planned reviews to help support the individual to achieve success. Apprentices will be supported by a course leader, subject specialist lecturers and a student tutor throughout their studies.

Entry Requirements

Individual employers set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include 5 GCSEs at 4/C or above including maths and English. Other relevant level 3 qualifications & experience, may be accepted. Applicants without English/maths GCSE must achieve this before taking their end point assessment

Career options

Payroll administrators may have responsibility for setting up and operating the payroll within a small organization. Alternatively, the role may be located within a large business/organisation or in a payroll bureau, bookkeeping or accounting practice or professional services company.

What will I study?

The timetable is planned to ensure that the on-programme assessment of knowledge, skills and behavior outcomes is covered over an 18 month period, enroute to the final synoptic end point assessment. Topics covered will include: • Gathering, creation and processing of payroll-related information, ensuring employees are paid on time. • Compliance with legislative and contractual obligations • Internal and external reporting of payroll information to deadlines • Communication with employees and relevant stakeholders • Working to relevant ethical and professional standards in a legislative and regulatory environment. • Use of relevant payroll software You will also be required to compile a work based portfolio of evidence to support your learning.

Classroom based tuition.

How will I be assessed?

For your apprenticeship to be successfully completed, there will be an end point assessment.
