Course Details

This apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to learn whilst working in the horticulture industry. You'll come to college once a week to learn basic and specialist skills but the majority of the course takes place and is assessed in the workplace. The programme also includes maths and English qualifications.

Entry Requirements

Ideally you will have completed the Horticulture Level 2 Apprenticeship, as well as having a keen interest in horticulture and GCSEs in English and maths.

What you need to know

What will I study?

You'll study a number of relevant units including health and safety, plants and soils and skills specific to your industry. You'll also study employers rights and responsibilities, English and maths to give you all round transferable skills.

How will I be taught?

One day per week for 18 weeks at college, the rest will be work-placed assessment. There will be extensive online resources available to help you with your underpinning knowledge and understanding.

How will I be assessed?

Most of the skills will be assessed in the workplace. There will be three short answer papers to complete.
