This 1 day course is run to assist people who will be applying for a personal licence to serve alcohol. Licensing Authorities now require applicants who wish to hold a Personal Licence to give proof of their understanding of Licensing Law, this qualification meets these requirements and is an approved qualification.

What you need to know

Entry Requirements?

None required although industry experience may be helpful.

What will I study?

You will study Licensing Law, details of Personal Licences, Operating Schedules, Rights of Police and Licensing Authorities and the Nature of Alcohol. You will also study the liabilities, duties and rights of personal licence holders, the designated premises supervisor and the social responsibilities connected with this role.

How will I be taught?

You will be taught in a friendly classroom environment with a multiple choice examination at the end of the day. You are required to study the provided handbook prior to the course starting.

How will I be assessed?

Examination - approved ID is required to sit this. If you have a Learning Difficulty or need extra help with reading and/or writing, we can support you.
