This Apprenticeship standard is designed for apprentice chefs who are looking to improve their knowledge and culinary skills and get a nationally recognised World chefs certification who will be working to becoming a Commis Chef. The apprentice will learn and understand how to carry out the basic functions in every section of the kitchen. Therefore having the opportunity to experience, consider and value each section with a view to choosing where they feel most inspired. Upon completion of the course the apprentice will be able to create basic dishes using fresh and local ingredients, demonstrate competency around food hygiene while maintaining a safe kitchen environment.
