This advanced course, will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to enable you to deal with the difficult role of the advanced HR Partner/Manager more confidently, authoritatively and efficiently. The knowledge elements of the advanced HR function are comprehensively dealt with in year 2, whilst year one is designed to provide a broader managerial development and outlook. Entry Requirements

Entry is normally based on a combination of the following: • A Degree or an HND in Business or Business related subject. • HR experience • Successful completion of the Intermediate CIPD Diploma (Level 5) . Interview required – phone or face to face

Career options

CIPD Level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (Year Two). Successful completion of the Post Graduate Diploma will qualify the student to progress to the one year MSc in HR Management.

What will I study?

Leadership Skills and Management: Brings together theory and practice to increase our understanding of the ‘People - Performance’ link. Including: high performance working, motivation, commitment and engagement, performance management, change, culture and leadership. Resourcing, Learning and Talent Management provides an opportunity to examine not only the practical elements of recruitment, selection, learning, and employee management, but also the strategic aspects.

How will I be taught?

The two units will be taught in weekly three hour (x2) sessions. The 8 hours a week will be devoted to group lectures, seminars and workshop activities. The teaching approach is to provide a theoretical understanding of people, management and organisations, and to develop this understanding by illustrating how theory and practice come together in the workplace.
