Course Details

This award provides the learner with broad concepts that underpin coaching & mentoring within the workplace. It is an introduction to the theoretical aspects of coaching and Mentoring, an opportunity to develop techniques where appropriate, for example in the capacity of line manager. The unit is also appropriate for individuals who support learning and development (L&D) professionals who have responsibility for developing a coaching/mentoring culture/strategy within the organisation.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for these programmes although students must demonstrate that they have the capabilities to undertake their chosen course. All students are required to join the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development as student members.

Career options

This course forms a module in the Level 3 Foundation Level Diploma in HR or L&D Practice.

What will I study?

Developing Coaching and Mentoring Skills for the Workplace

How will I be taught?

Live lessons and collaborative working are the cornerstones of the teaching style at Chichester College. You will learn the principles of human resources practice through talks, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises. Throughout the programme you will be encouraged to relate theories and practice to your own organisation and experience both within class and written/practical assignments. You will be required to do study in your own time, 2-6 hours a week.

How will I be assessed?

The completion of a programme of written and practical work will assimilate your understanding and test your application of the knowledge and skills you have learnt.
