Course Details

An 21-month advanced apprenticeship incorporating the new ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers. Designed for individuals leading teams with some management responsibilities,such as supporting, managing and developing team members, to leading projects or planning and monitoring workloads and resources. Also responsible for delivering operational plans, resolving problems, or building work relationships with colleagues at the same level of above. Relevant job titles are: Team Leader, Supervisor, Project Officer, Shift Supervisor, Foreperson or Shift Manager. College attendance is 50 days over five terms including workshops for portfolio building. Includes ILM registration and certification and a one-day Problem Solving and Leading People Event.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs, at C grade or above including English and maths. Acceptance onto this course is via an interview with the ILM Course Leader. You will be invited to bring your CV and a 500 word personal statement of why you wish to study for a management qualification at this time.

What will I study?

The ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers, designed to meet the assessment criteria for this apprenticeship standard, Comprising of seventeen mandatory units including Knowledge units (theory) and Skills units (application) for: Leading People Managing People Building Relationships Communication Operational Management Project Management Finance. Plus three Combined units (personal effectiveness): Self-awareness Management of Self Problem Solving and Decision Making.

How will I be taught?

A team of Lecturers will be teaching their with subject specialist unit via face-to-face classroom delivery with active learning group work throughout the course. Support will be given by 1-2-1 tutorials with the Course Leader and Student Tutor and Assessor. Support will be given by 1-2-1 tutorials. The course includes a Leadership and Problem Solving Event to apply theory in a practical environment.

How will I be assessed?

There are a variety of assessment methods used for the ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers: two onscreen multiple choice tests covering four Knowledge units, plus a portfolio of evidence for the remaining thirteen units. The apprentice will then be prepared for the End Point Assessment in conjunction with their employer.
