There are no formal entry requirements; although it is expected that you will already have GCSE at Level D or above or equivalent qualifications in both Maths and English. You will be invited to an interview to determine whether this qualification is appropriate for you.

What will I study?

The primary purpose of this qualification is to develop your understanding of lean organisation techniques in business by gaining an understanding of the concept of a lean environment, be able to implement a productivity needs analysis and produce a process map. You’ll understand business improvement tools and techniques by learning about continuous improvement techniques (Kaizen) and the principles and techniques of workplace organisation. You’ll also be able to use visual indicators to improve the work environment and suggest ways to eliminate variance from processes in the workplace. You’ll develop an understanding of what makes an effective team and will work effectively in a team. You’ll also look at what makes an effective team leader. You’ll develop valuable transferable skills which employers can draw on to support the improvement of business performance. This qualification will support your progression in employment or to further learning.

How will I be taught?

Alongside the learning materials, you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you advice and guidance on the course content as well as providing useful feedback on the work you complete.

How will I be assessed?

By using the e-assessor portal to upload work for assessment and feedback by our specialist assessors. The course is usually delivered over a period of 12 weeks.
