Course Details

The L3 L&D Practitioner apprenticeship programme offers the perfect platform for those at the start of their career to further develop L&D knowledge and skills and progress within the profession. It offers progression on to the Level 5 Intermediate qualification. Attendance at college provides both the delivery of the on-programme element of the apprenticeship as well as support with evidence demonstrating competence in the skills and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standards.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 qualifications in maths and English You must be working in a L&D role that provides sufficient opportunity to evidence competence in the knowledge, skills and berhaviours set out in the apprenticeship standards

This L3 qualification is suitable for those beginning their careers as L&D practitioners and will equip learners with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to progress their careers within the L&D profession to consultant / business partner level and then on to more strategic management roles

What will I study?

You will study the following six core units: Becoming an effective learning and development practitioner; Learning and development and the organisation; Identifying learning and development needs; Designing learning and development activities; Delivering learning and development activities; Evaluating learning and development activities.

How will I be taught?

Lively lessons and collaborative learning are the cornerstones of the teaching style at Chichester College. You will learn the principles of L&D practice through group discussions, case studies, role plays, practical activities and independent research. Throughout the course you will be applying your knowledge of concepts, models and theories to your own practice and your own organisational context.You will undertake extra study outside of the classroom and ensure that you track your own learnin

How will I be assessed?

A range of assessment methods are used throughout the course including reports, presentations, practical activities, case studies and role plays. The apprenticeship assessment has two separate elements that, taken together, will synoptically test knowledge, practical skills and industry behaviours in an integrated way at the end of the apprenticeship. These two assessments consists of a presentation based on a learning journal completed throughout the programme and a work-based project and professional discussion.
