Course Details

The L&D Consultant/Business Partner apprenticeship is designed to develop the professional standard required of people working as L&D Consultants / Business Partners in organisations across the private,public and third sectors. The standard and end-point assessment plan have been developed by the L&D/HR Trailblazer Group which received backing from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)- the sector’s Professional Body with additional support coming from the key industry partners. The on programme learning will include studying 7 modules that make up the CIPD Intermediate Qualification in L&D as well as support in preparing you for meeting the requirements for Gateway and for your End Point Assessment.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 English and Maths Working towards a Consultant / Business Partner role and / or access to a sufficient range of duties to meet all of the apprenticeship standards.

Career options

Successful completion of the programme demonstrates competence at L&D Consultant / Business Partner level and therefore progression on to a more strategic management or leadership role within an L&D function.

What will I study?

The qualification consists of three core units: Developing Professional Practice in L&D; Understanding the Context of L&D; Using Information in L&D. Possible optional units are: Supporting Individual Learning Through Coaching & Mentoring; Developing Leadership & Management Skills; Designing & Developing Digital and Blended Learning Solutions; Managing & Co-ordination the L&D Function

How will I be taught?

Live lessons and collaborative learning are the cornerstones of the teaching style at Chichester College. You will learn the principles of L&D practice through talks, group discussions, case studies, role plays and practical exercises. As an apprenticeship programme you will relate theories, models and concepts to your own organisation and experiences both within the classroom, in written / practical assignments and in the workplace. You will work with an Assessor to review your work-based learn

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed using a range of strategies including reports, presentations, a small scale research project, and artifacts such as a costed L&D Plan, a PDP/CPD Log, an L&D Policy. For the apprenticeship standard the End Point Assessment consists of: a work-based project and professional discussion; a presentation based on the learning journal maintained for the duration of the apprenticeship programme.
