Our HNC course is a strong foundation year in developing performance techniques, independent discipline and professional practices for entry into further full-time study in accredited drama schools or work in the profession. Emphasis will be given in the first term to preparation for auditions at drama schools, ensemble performance and personal development. Performance projects are the underlying foundation of the course. As members of our ‘IntAct’ Theatre Company students will work within a schedule that emulates that of a professional company, taking daily technique classes and rehearsals. Recent productions have performed during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and local theatres. Students will also undertake research into performance practices and virtuosity, which will produce work within the scholarly conventions appropriate to an undergraduate level of study. At the end of the course students have the opportunity to celebrate their achievement with a full graduation ceremony at Chichester Cathedral.
Progress from this course can lead to places at an accredited drama School, University or directly into the profession. Recent graduates have attained places at Guildhall, Guildford, E15 and Rose Bruford.
