If you are looking to kick-start your career in the health and fitness industry, or further your sporting education, Chichester College offers Level 2 Diploma in Health and Fitness, The level 2 Diploma in Health and Fitness is made up of eight industry-recognised qualifications and will equip learners and prepare for future employment within a specific occupational area. The diploma will further qualify you in the further desirable areas: • Active Healthy Living • Circuit Training • Fitness Instructor • Activity Leadership • Adapting Exercise for adolescents • Kettlebells Instructing • Studio Cycling • Working with the Communities. Additional opportunities include compulsory work experience in the gym environment. The aim of this is to increase your employability following the course.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Mathematics and English Language at 4 and above are essential, work experience and/or other sports qualifications are also beneficial. References/certificates will be required to show experience/ previous qualifications. All applicants are interviewed.

What you need to know

What will I study?

The Fitness Instructing qualification will offer you: Anatomy and physiology, how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity, Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment, Principles of exercise, fitness and health, Instructing gym-based exercises. The industry-recognized diploma will further qualify you in the following areas: • Active Healthy Living • Activity Leadership • Adapting Exercise for adolescents • Working with the Communities. Studio based qualification • Circuit Training • Kettlebells Instructing • Studio Cycling

How will I be taught?

Sessions will be practically taught as well as classroom based theory lessons. Sessions will be in the Gym, Multi-use room and Sports hall, along with theory in Classrooms. There will be peer assessments and working with the community. You will be supported and guided through this, then expected to lead your own sessions.

How will I be assessed?

*Coursework * Multiple Choice Examination * Practical assessments * Portfolio of Evidence *Practical Demonstration / Assignment £180 will be required on starting the course to cover all learning resources, t-shirt and educational trips.
