Italian for Beginners Stage 1
COURSE OVERVIEW
The main aim of Italian for Beginners is to help you learn the basics of the language and build a strong foundation for further study. You will cover essential vocabulary and grammar topics that will enable you to communicate in everyday situations that you might encounter whilst travelling in Italy.
Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to:
• Develop your confidence in using Italian in a variety of everyday settings such as introducing yourself, ordering food and drink, getting by in tourist situations, and talking about your hobbies and interests.
• Practise your listening and speaking skills through a variety of interactive activities, including dialogues, role plays, and audio exercises.
• Develop your reading and writing skills through comprehension tasks and short written assignments.
• Learn about different aspects of Italian life and culture.
To get the most out of this course it is advisable to take stages 1 and 2 which will enable you to build and consolidate your knowledge and skills of the language. By the end of the year, you should feel more confident in your ability to understand and speak at a basic level. We hope you enjoy the journey and wish you much success in your studies!
Italian for Beginners Stage 1 runs from September-December 2024 and is for adults (19+) with no previous knowledge of the language who are interested in learning useful everyday phrases and basic grammar. All you’;ll need is a keen interest to learn!

Continuous classroom assessment based on Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA).
