T Level in Health (Adult Nursing)
COURSE OVERVIEW
The T Level in Health is a brand new and exciting level 3 course to be delivered from September 2025. This qualification is equivalent to three A levels and will give you the key knowledge and experience to start a career in the health sector. A T Level in Health will enable you to apply to university or start work in a healthcare support role.
During your time on the course you will cover a range of topics such as Infection Control, Clinical Skills, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, communication to name just a few. You will undertake a work placement in a relevant health setting, to prepare you for employment as a frontline health care practitioner. The specification of this qualification has been mapped to the standards of health care services, meaning you will be well placed to embark on an exciting and rewarding career. You will build up your core knowledge and skills before specialising in a specific field of health.
The scope of the content which you will cover will be assessed through a mixture of externally set and marked examinations, case studies, practical assessments, professional discussions, and an employer set project.
Learners should expect to be in college between 9am and 5pm on college days. Placement times can vary according to the setting. Holidays cannot be sanctioned during the college term. 100% attendance at college and placement is expected.

FURTHER INFORMATION
Learners are required to have 5 GCSEs grade 4-9 (or A*-C) including English Language, Mathematics and Science (biology GCSE as a minimum, but preferably Double Science. Level 2 equivalent may be considered). Previous experience in health or care will support your application, and a satisfactory reference from previous educational setting. Due to the nature and requirements of working the health sector, a satisfactory and clear DBS check at an enhanced level is required. Please be aware that if the DBS check comes back with anything being flagged that may be of some concern, your application could be withdrawn following a meeting with the Head of Learning. An interview will be completed prior to acceptance on the course, where you will be required to bring proof of predicted grades and reference from your school. It is also advisable that learners have access to ICT facilities and resources.
University Course e.g. Nursing, Midwifery, Mental Health nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Paramedic Science, Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy etc.
Employment e.g. healthcare support worker, ambulance emergency healthcare support worker
Apprenticeships e.g. nursing, paramedic science etc.
Learners will be assessed through a mixture of externally set and marked examinations, case studies, practical assessments, professional discussions, and an employer set project, as well as in class assessment and activities, and successful completion of work experience hours and assessment.
There are no costs for joining the T Level Health in Adult Nursing.
You will have to purchase your uniform to wear at you placement. You will also need to buy the text book for you course, as well as normal stationary and folders to support your study.
The exit award will be a T level in the subject area specialism, awarded by a nationally recognised educational awarding body. It will be graded with a pass, merit or distinction, with grades also highlighted to future employers within the core and specialist skills area.
They would undergo a disclosing and barring check and receive an occupational health screening and a hepatitis B vaccination, CPR and safeguarding training so they have undergone the necessary checks to take an active part in health care delivery during their industry placement. This will increase their employment chances on completion of the T level award.
You will be expected to complete a summer project prior to starting in September, to demonstrate your understanding of the subject. This will be explained during the interview.
