Your Future

There are many opportunities in the horticulture area, from gardening and landscape gardening, to working for a grower in a small nursery or bigger production glasshouses. You could start your own business, go into higher education or specialise in turf management and work for football or cricket clubs. 

What will I be doing?

This is a diverse industry and jobs may range from designing and creating beautiful gardens to working on a large country estate, or becoming a manager in the glasshouse industry. You could be working in parks, gardens, estates, garden centres, setting up your own business or moving into the food production industry. 

What skills will I need?

An interest in plants and landscapes, practical skills, communication, fitness, creativity and organisation.
