Chichester College’s netball team are celebrating a new partnership deal, which it’s hoped will herald the start of a netball academy.

The college and with local netball team – MSL – to create a three-tiered playing structure, with players of all ages enjoying the opportunity to take their talent to the court each week.

Sponsored by, a local letting agency dedicated to students, the teams will benefit from new kit – including dresses, under layers and training gear.

They will play across three leagues, with the college’s development team taking to the court in the Chichester Netball League, while the first team will defend their title in the Chichester Premier Division.

College players will have the opportunity to progress into the MSL team, which competes in the Portsmouth League.

Coach Nicola Holmes said: “This is an important step forward for the college’s netball set-up.

“For the first time, there will be a clear progression route for players as they develop and as they move on from the college.

“This is hopefully a move towards establishing a netball academy set up, which will enable our students to follow their passion for netball throughout their college career and beyond.”

And it’s not just students at Chichester College who will benefit from the new partnership.

MSL are running a Junior Summer Camp in Felpham from Monday 5 to Friday 9 August, 10am-4pm, for children aged 12-14.

They will learn new netball skills and develop their fitness, strategy and match play, working with experienced coaches and players.

Advance booking is necessary, and children can sign up for a day (£18) or for the week (£75). To find out more, please email:
