Over the next three years, the college will work with support of the RFU to establish a robust rugby pathway through further education for players of all abilities. We will work alongside Hampshire and Sussex RFUs as well as regional academies, such as Harlequins and London Irish, to provide excellent rugby experiences for students at Chichester.
The role of the Rugby Academy is to identify and develop talented young athletes from age 16 to 19 and engage them in a high performance development programme. Players can become part of the academy through a variety of routes - the only essential criteria is that they are students of the Chichester College Group.
The academy is underpinned by the outstanding education available at Chichester College, thus providing the necessary structure for each player to reach their full potential. We provide our young players with an environment in which they can grow, express themselves both personally and professionally, and achieve their dream of becoming professional rugby players.
